Kirsten's main interests interests are in modernism and theatre, in the works of Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen, and in the relationship between theatre and science. She has published several books on these subjects including Theatre and Evolution from Ibsen to Beckett, Science on Stage, Henrik Ibsen: A Very Short Introduction, and guides to A Doll’s House by Ibsen and A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams. She is also the Founder of LitHits
